And if there’s anything certain about baristas, is that they prepare a large number of iced coffees throughout the warm months, so you’ll probably want to save all the tips you can get on brewing the best homemade iced coffee.

The most popular iced coffee recipes contain milk, which means that the single origin or blend has to have strong, intense tasting notes that blend well with milk or dairy free alternatives. We suggest the following:

Ethiopian Guji Grade 1: one of the few Ethiopian coffees we recommend because it brews a delicious espresso (Ethiopian coffees tend to have a higher acidity, thus making them less suitable for espresso). It has vivid citrus tasting notes, however when brewed as an espresso it has a milk chocolate after taste. Just perfect for an iced latte!

Honduras Honey Process: the nuttiest coffee you’ve ever tasted. Every sip of this gorgeous single origin is pure bliss, making it the perfect candidate for an iced Americano or iced latte.

Colombia Supremo: chocolate and caramel in a cup. Brew it as an iced mocha and you’ll have yourself a delicious coffee and treat at the same time!

Tanzania Blue Mountain: our best-selling coffee is definitely a must-try. We think it’s become so popular because of its versatility, so if you brew iced coffee using a different brewing method other than the espresso machine, Tanzanian Blue Mountain will not disappoint.

Dark Roast of the Month: you should try it at least once, despite the popular belief that it is bitter (you know who you are, just give it a try). If you want to highlight its intense dark chocolate notes and smokeyness, make sure to brew it as an iced latte with coconut milk. Thank us later!

Noss Noss: blend beautifully with any milk-based drink. It contains 50% Arabica and 50% Robusta and it is inspired by the popular Moroccan Nous Nous, which is brewed using equal parts espresso and steamed milk. It’s great brewed using any method, but it was specifically created to brew the creamiest espresso. Try it as an iced mocha or an iced latte. It will soon become your next favorite iced coffee that also has a high kick of caffeine!

Homemade Cold Brew. Home Barista Summer Drinks Part 2

Even though iced coffees are more popular, cold brew earned its place as one of the most brewed cold coffees during summer. Here are our recommendations:

Peru Cafe Femenino: Lemon, cocoa and maple syrup tasting notes that brew a naturally- sweet cold brew. Perfect if you love a strong coffee and also have a sweet tooth.

Ethiopian Illubabor: anaerobically processed, fruity and syrupy. It has a high acidity which makes it the perfect candidate for cold brew, which brews the smoothest cup of coffee.

Ambush Forest: naturally fruity blend of grade 1 Ethiopian coffees. As mentioned before, cold brew is the best brewing method for highly acidic coffees, and Ambush certainly fits the criteria. It has tasting notes of berries, lavender and cocoa and brews the brightest cup of coffee you’ll ever have!

Colombian Geisha: a rare microlot with tasting notes of honey and melon. The perfect sweet and fruity blend to enjoy on a hot summer day!

Orange Blossom Blend: Our unique take on a zesty, light roast blend. We chose our unique Zege Forest coffee beans, carefully roasted them to the first crack and roasted then infused them with orange blossom petals. Summer taste in a cup.

These are just our recommendations and we have added them all in one page for easy access.
